Nov 2013
We've moved the session. Despite a good year or so, and quite a favourable response from the punters at times, it would seem it doesn't really fit with the more restaurant-like dining experience which the pub is going for, and in any case there's a new landlord now. We were made very welcome at The Lamb for the Lewes Folk Festival night in October and we're now going to try out the acoustic in the side room which is more contained and we should be able to hear each other!

1 June 2012
The 13 June session will be at the Kings Head, 9 Southover High Street, BN7 1HS where the management is very keen on this sort of music and extremely welcoming. It's the red mark 'A' on the above map, close to the station, and there's a schools carpark nearby which can be used. The Black Horse is circled just for directional reference.
26 April 2012:
Well the scaffolding is just now going up on the pub, and it looks like it's going to be a long time before it's re-opened. There's a sign in the window saying, I'm pretty sure, closed until 30 May. So... whether to temporarily or permanently move to another pub? Take a short break and go back to the Horse (if they're happy with this)?
6 March 2012: no April session!
It was already looking like we'd cancel April's session as a number of us would be away at Sore Fingers, but I've just had word that the pub is changing hands on 31 March and will be closed for refurbishment for a few weeks. We won't know for certain that the session will be able to continue, but the current landlady tells me the new owner seems 'old school' like her, and there's no reason to think he won't want to keep the existing music sessions. I will of course confirm when we know one way or the other!
